Shirley E. Mitchem, of 3331 Buckingham Road, Powhatan, died August 31, 1985, in a local hospital. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary C. Mitchem; three daughters, Greta Price of Blacksburg, Brenda Mitche of Gloucester Point and Velda Davis of Powhatan; two sons, Arnold of Winston-Salem, N.C. and Ferty of Richmond; also five grandsons, six granddaughters, and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Mitchem was born in Blackwolf, W. Va., son of the late Jesse and Margaret Mitchem, Remains rest at the Rose Funeral Home, Powhatan. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m.Tuesday at Graceland Baptist Church. Family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Powhatan Volunteer Rescue Squad. Family will meet with friends Monday, September 2, 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment church cemetery.
